Description
Excerpt from The Clerk of Works: A Handbook on the Supervision of Building Operations
The Clerk of vorks plays a very important part in building Operations. His duties are many and various, requiring tact and diplomacy in their execution. There is no school at which he can be trained for the post. His natural abilities and general knowledge of building can only be assisted by some book dealing with the position he holds, or seeks to obtain. This little Handbook seeks to fill that need. It is primarily written to be of use to those successful applicants for the position of Clerk of vorks on first appointment; but it is possible that those who have held the appointment for some years may gain some assistance from a perusal of its pages.
