Description
This book, The Ministry of the Holy Spirit during this Age of Grace in the Absence of the King, is the second volume in a six-volume series concerning the ‘End Times,’ which examines various Christian doctrines through the lens of Eschatology. Many conservative scholars at the beginning of the 21st century believe that the ‘End Times’ are now underway, and are expecting the imminent return of Christ.
This book examines the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in these latter days of the Age of Grace, where the traditional theology and understanding of His ministry has been undergoing radical change since the beginning of the 20th century.
The Age of Grace is the period from Pentecost to the return of Christ. The Holy Spirit has been ministering to the faithful ever since Pentecost, fifty days after the Resurrection:
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues (languages), as the Spirit gave them utterance (ability to speak out). (Acts 2:1-4)
This book will be controversial, since it goes against many popular accepted beliefs and practices. However, the hope is that the reader will find a balanced approach, notwithstanding the rather negative conclusions of the research around the Charismatic Movement, and the New Apostolic Reformation in particular.
