Speculum Perfectz''om''s (mirror of Perfection), which was first published as an independent work by M. Paul Sabatier in 1898, there are two English translations - one by Dr. Sebastian Evans (d. Nutt), the other by Mr. R. Steele (dent and Co.z Temple Classics). Translations of the Legenda trium Sociomm (legend of S. Francis by the Three Companions), of the Sacmm Commercium, of the Fioretti, and of the Life by S. Bonaventura, have also appeared in the Temple Classics, and a translation of the Fioretti is also published in Methuen''s Standard Library.'' The compiler of the present work is preparing a translation of the Lives of S. Francis by Thomas of Celano, from which a large number of the extracts in this volume are taken.
