Description
Excerpt from First Annual Report: Of the Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad Company
At Xenia and Dayton, connexions will also be formed with the entire system of railways in Ohio and Indiana.
The vigorous prosecution of the work on the Scioto Hocking Valley railroad, during the past year, renders its extension, to a point where it will intersect this road, quite certain, within the time necessary to complete the first division of this work. This will not only open a communication, at once, with the richest portion of the Mineral Region and with the Ohio river but offers the strongest inducement to undertake immediately, the construction of the second division to Marietta. Not only the interests of Southern Ohio, but those of Kentucky and Tennessee, demand the step.
