Description
Excerpt from Financial Crises: And Periods of Industrial and Commercial Depression
In speaking of certain English writers, M. Charles Coquelin says: I will venture to say that their authors have almost always gone astray, not from want Of knowl edge, but rather from refining too much. Their chief mistake has been to dwell upon the particular circumstances of commercial crises, without stating sufficiently their general and dominating character, to consider their variations instead of their resem blances, and consequently stopping almost always at the immediate or secondary causes by which they are determined, instead of going up to the primordial cause which engenders them.
