Description
A selection of edited images by photographer Elizabeth Knight, taken over a three day period in Barcelona the week before independence fever took Barcelona by storm.
Taken with an innocent eye, these photographs have some of the immediacy of Henri Cartier Bresson. Elizabeth points the camera, snaps and as if by magic, there’s an interesting element hidden somewhere within the picture.
Among the images are pictures of Gegants (papier maché figures) which have their origins in medieval Catholic attempts to tell Bible stories to an illiterate public. This being Barcelona, there are buses everywhere, also a local bodega ‘La Cova Fumada’, La Boqueria Market and Tibidabo fairground with its splendid original rides dating from the 1900’s. Here is all the richness of a vibrant provincial capital.
