Description
Set against the backdrop of The Troubles in the North of Ireland - The Tears Of Belfast begins in 1998, with the main character, Tim Regan, returning to Belfast for the funeral of a boyhood friend, The city he left as a teenager now a hive of organised crime controlled by paramilitary gangs like the Provos, who still hadn't gone away. The story evolves through Regan's tardis-trip recalls to the earliest days of The Troubles, and a time when paramilitary double-agents could kill at a whim knowing they were protected by special branch, and a sinister organisation known as The Net.
Over two decades later they are killing again in a tale, that while disturbing, offers an in-depth analysis of the darker underbelly of Belfast, and the Provos, now a cartel, are feared even more, but not by Regan, and he has revenge on his mind in what is story characterised by a clever Belfast banter, an uncompromising realism, and injustice, that will challenge the reader to question both the past, and the present.
