Most High still ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. And those who can trace the fulfilment of sacred prophecy, even to the sad truth of the letter, in the melancholy desolations of Babylon, and Tyre, and Jerusalem, might be fairly supposed to allow as something more than vague and allegorical uncertainties those dictates of the same inspiration, which foretell apostacy and judgment in the latter times.
There are nevertheless many who, while they confess that the overthrow of Pharaoh, and the emulsion of the nations of Canaan by the Jews.
