Description
Street Fever - Sheffield Street Photography 2020-2023 follows the city and its people during one of its most challenging times since the Blitz. An unknown disease had spread across the globe and threatened to change the world we once, perhaps, took for granted.
Coronavirus had arrived; a faceless killer with no remorse or preference. From behind closed doors, many waited for further instructions. Others protested against the restrictions, potential vaccines, racial hatred, climate change and unrest in the Middle East.
In the year of 2020 the city basked in an unusually hot summer; the silence was over, and as the temperatures rose so did the emotions. This photography book charts Sheffield from the first UK lockdown, right through to 2023. We see the people on the streets, the striking architecture and the protests which had become so prevelant. We also witness the city afterwards and how it has slowly fallen back into its old familiar ways, even though at certain times history appears to repeat itself.
With over 275 black and white images, Street Fever - Sheffield Street Photography 2020-2023 guides us through an important time in history, a time none of us will ever forget.
