Muhammad Yunus immigrated to Hong Kong from Burma 43 years ago. He shares his experiences in Burma where he was born and lived for 42 years. These experiences begin in a period when the Tamils were quite influential in Burma with influence. The memories recall the events surrounding World War II, Japanese invasion, Netaji's Indian Freedom League, liberation of Burmese, military rule, issues related to right-to-life faced by Indians. It goes up to the period when substantial number of Indians had to leave Burma. Yunus' jottings speak the life, culture, art and literature of the Burmese Tamils. The memories of Yunus, who is concerned about the society in which he lives and has boundless love for fellow human beings, portray the social life and the history of a period.
