Description
An inclusive book about neurodiversity to inspire children who are neurodivergent and to give awareness to those around diverse needs.
We all have feelings and emotions. We all experience these in diverse ways, for different reasons and manage our reactions accordingly.
We are unique to each other and our brains and bodies function in different ways that show this. Understanding the behaviours of neurodiversity can feel like an overwhelming battle. The variety of functions the human brain can develop in social circumstances, such as, giving attention, how we focus, how we learn and how we react, are difficult to grasp.
This story discusses how we are like different types of trains and how we present our behaviours in the carriages of trains. The illustrations in this book follow a story of a young boy who is finding challenges in everyday life scenarios due to the overwhelming senses he experiences of noise, smell, personal space and changes that we find ourselves coming across daily and how this can affect us and those around us.
Hauling carriages of our emotions, like trains hauling carriages of cargo or people, these feelings and behaviours can often spill out in our actions. Having schedules and routines, like trains do, helps us to stay focussed, motivated and on task, so we feel less overwhelmed.
This book gives us knowledge of how we, as individuals, are created by our differences and needs. Here, we open doors to a better understanding for those that are neurodiverse.
