Description
The book details all Delaney's achievements, including the horrendous injury that he suffered on the eve of World War Two and the family tragedy that also came his way. He won the Scottish Cup for Celtic before World War Two, the English Cup for Manchester United immediately after the end of the war and the Irish Cup for Derry City in the 1950s. In addition, he won 13 caps for Scotland. There is an account of his famous goal in the Victory International of 1946 which lit up all of Scotland. He played for seven clubs in total in a career which lasted from 1933–1957. Jimmy was renowned for good sportsmanship and remained a humble man from a small village in Lanarkshire.
