Description
Excerpt from Paul Cézanne: His Life and Art
In his letter to me of July 28, 1922, M. Vol lard asked me to mention the fact that the re productions which appear in this volume have been selected by him especially for this edition and have never appeared elsewhere. The orig inal photographs are the personal property of M. Vollard, and M. Paul Cézanne Jr. Has ap proved of the author''s choice.
If the reader will bear in mind that Cézanne''s success almost wholly depended on the author of this book, he will have a keener interest in M. Vollard than as a biographer of the great French artist.
